How To Force Blogger To Show The Desktop Version Of Your Blog On Mobile

I have been blogging for many years now. I have used both Blogger and Wordpress in the past. Blogger definitely holds my heart, though, for many reasons. Its stock templates may not be a slick as those of Wordpress, but it makes up for it in so many other ways.

Today I want to teach you how to force Blogger to show your desktop site while being viewed on mobile browsers. Some may wonder why one would want to do this when Blogger has so generously created a mobile friendly version for us? Well, my main reason was because my add-ons were not showing up on the mobile version. I have a Facebook pop-up to invite readers to like my page and I also have buttons that allow users to share my content. None of which were showing up on my mobile version. This was a huge detriment to my shareability.

Once I figured out the solution, I wanted to share it because I knew that there must be many other people who were having similar issues.

So, let's get started! I've added screen-shots and green arrows to help you along the way!

1. Log into your blogger account. If you have more than one blog on your account you will need to select which blog you want to work on.

2. On the left-hand side of your screen, scroll down the navigation menu and click on Template

3. Click on the sprocket under the template preview of your mobile version.

4. A menu will pop up with two options. Select the second option: "No, show desktop template on mobile devices."

A black dot will appear in the circle to the left of your selection.

5. Press save.

6. Test out your website on your mobile browser to make sure everything looks the way you want it to.

And voila! You're all done.
